We know that Valentines Day has come and gone but the love you expressed does not have to come to an end. Valentines Day is just one day that forces us to show our loved ones how much we appreciate them, when in reality, this love should be expressed each day. But like most of us, life gets in the way. The wedding is over, the kid’s are growing, and careers are demanding. It’s not until an anniversary or birthday, or some faux holiday like V-Day, that we take the time to show our partner that we love them. Let us help you do something special for your spouse that will invite the wedding bliss to resurface! For those of you that aren’t married, let this be inspiration!
Recreate your wedding night.
The honeymoon that is. Maybe revisit the hotel room you stayed in before taking off the next morning for your honeymoon. Since honeymoons are so expensive, visit a beach that is reminiscent of the exotic island you visited. Or take a day to visit museums, art galleries, and restaurants that are all nostalgic of your honeymoon to Paris. So, you get the picture right?
Plan an event with your wedding theme.
Loved your wedding theme so much that you want to relive the party? Plan a themed celebration incorporating elements from your special day. In order to achieve this without guests feeling like they are at your wedding again, you need to take elements that can essentially be used for any celebration. For instance, your arch may have been beautiful at your wedding, but you won’t be walking to the altar at your anniversary party. So the point is, use the theme, but don’t recreate the wedding.
Have dinner at the location where you got engaged.
Got engaged at your favorite restaurant, park, or home surrounded by family and friends? Or did your proposal take place in a less traditional location such as at a sporting event. Or was a flash mob in on the surprise? Whatever your case is, revisit the place by arranging a private dinner. If this idea is out of the budget, plan your own dinner or picnic at the location in an area with less foot traffic. Either way, this will be a dinner to remember!
Plan a date at the location where you first met.
Remember how you first met or is this an ongoing debate each time someone ask? Well have some fun with it. This is the chance for each of you to give your interpretation of how you met. Every couple loves a challenge! Reinterpret your first date and watch the similarities and differences reveal themselves. The next time someone ask, how did you meet, this time around you’ll have the same story to tell!
